Only three weeks now until I leave.
Another month until I start teaching.
I've been living with my family in Ashland, Oregon the past several weeks. I've seen some old friends, painted the house exterior, read books I've been meaning to read, watched movies I've been meaning to watch, and taking a Calculus II class at the college.
Lately I feel pressed to do a lot more than I feel I can handle; haven't even started packing yet, and I'm having trouble coming up with topics to use in my classes. (Wow... I'm really gonna be a teacher!)
Up until this point, the position in China has been a bit less than real. It's so new and unique I haven't really been able to take ownership of it. (I seem to have that feeling about most things that are in the future.)
Right now, however, I am at last feeling that the experience is really real, and it's mine. (Disclaimer - Though I couldn't do what I'm about to do without the support of so many mentors, advisers, friends and family.)
This marks the first entry of this blog.
I'll write more when I have more to say.
